About one third of the Roman
theatre of Cividate is visible at present. Using this as a basis, a hypothetical
reconstruction of the essential features of the building has been prepared,
avoiding detail where this is unknown. Part of the summa cavea wall is
now on private land above the modern road; in the archaeological area part
of the underpinnings of the cavea may be seen, as well as the right-hand
aditus and versura and part of the scaena, the postscaena and the porticus
post scaenam (the portico behind the scene-building).
